I haven't been on these forums in a long time so excuse me if this has already been posted or answered. Everytime I try to run Bang! Howdy, from either the download or browser, it comes up with 'The application has failed to launch due to a missing resource: http://pad-download.threerings.net/bang/client/getdown.txt'. I'm not really sure what that means or what I should do and I haven't found a post about this, yet anyway, so any ideas why it's saying this? ---------------------------------------- --We all act like humans...But then Money,Power and Greed turn us into the animals we truly are. I am same same here. Not here for long time and get same error. I am also getting the Accounting Error 500. Tried browser and client download. This info when I clicked the address in above post.. And, when I got the pop up warning during download.. the find more info here was completely blank as if typing/address had never been inserted. " More information This error (HTTP 404 Not Found) means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the website, but the page you wanted was not found. It's possible that the webpage is temporarily unavailable. I've been looking around the forums and it looks like it could be a problem with a firewall blocking it or a problem with the site, I doubt that though. You can try to run it from here - http://www.miniclip.com/games/bang-howdy/en/ but otherwise I'm not sure what happened =/ ---------------------------------------- --We all act like humans...But then Money,Power and Greed turn us into the animals we truly are. I'm having the same problem. Could be with the site, but I suppose more people would be posting to this thread...eh, perhaps not. Did you manage to successfully launch the game from the site you offered? I tried it, but it only links back to the same server with the same problem. I find the error report rather amusing: "please visit [space for troubleshooting link but nothing there] for information..." Let me know if anyone finds a fix. MiniClip is giving the same error =/ After reading through the forums the other day it seems Three Rings has basically given up on Bang! Howdy for whatever reason so there's probably no server for it to connect to. I could be wrong and hope that I am but after some extra searchin it seems the most recent 'Sheriff' log-in was 4+ months ago which goes with them giving up on the site =/ ---------------------------------------- --We all act like humans...But then Money,Power and Greed turn us into the animals we truly are. I'm pretty sure everyone is having the same problem. This is kinda depressing... For me, it seems like they've finally given up on Bang! Howdy without giving us a warning. Pretty sad on their part. But hey, there might be a slim chance that this was a mistake and they just don't know about it. Maybe giving this a bit of time a "miracle" might happen and it might get fixed (doubt it though, and I'm not trying to be pessimistic) ---------------------------------------- The First, Last and Only Beauty of Bang! Bang! Howdy is pretty much dead. It's just a bit confusing for me that they would leave the site up though especially if they're not supporting it anymore. Okay folks, lemmie tell you something now. OOO don't give one shat about B!H now. They don't even have the game listed on their site. If you want their attention I suggest you guys post/spam (whatever you wanna call it) their Facebook page and tell them something's up. Quite interesting, I am able to join in-game. I have downloaded the game and there is no issue. However, I do agree that this game unfortunately is hitting the hay. ---------------------------------------- [___LAG_TRUCK__][]]~Ricky Raccoon~ A man's facial hair says it all. |

It doesn't work for me either. But i am in for trying to reboost this game. I played it when there where around the 100 players in Frontier town and the old system before this Wrangler Pass. Believe me: That was AWESOME! ;) This game is fun, really fun, but need new ideas of new developers. |

Also, if you really do think about it, when B!H does die, its gonna be terribly sad D: I remember I had SO much fun here! It was such an amazing game, without a doubt one of the best online experiences ever. Back when there were lots of parlours, lots of people and a huge amount of things going on - competitive gangs (BTW, remember the Guardian gang? And the clan.. they started with W. I cant even remember the name :( Whateleys or something? GOod times.. good times) Such a shame to see this game disappear. I know it's just a game but it was really something amazing. Huge sentiment when I look back on posts from 4 or even 5 years ago. I even looked back on the oldest posts from the Beta stages! Oh well |
