I got this great idea for a new scenario. I know you like it for real! This type of gameplay has been suggested and implemented in most of the games! Its called: Bonus Bashing! Yeah, it's like, the one who gets the most bonuspoints win! Just like in FG, Wendigo and balanced totem, claim and land grab games! But then it's actually the objective of the game! I know alot of you love it! And there must be uncollectable items on the ground, so you can hop them aswell for more points! I KNOW YOU LOVE IT! /*turns off incredibly frustrated sarcastic mode Totem Building is fun. It's one of the games I like the most. I lose them sometimes too. To Sly for example, or Folie. Those are good matches. But today I had one of the worst matches. Ok, I didn't play to well, made a vital wrong decision, but the score of the bonuspoints told me enough. 160 vs few (25 I think). And I can't blame my opponent! NOTHING in this game is such encouraged as Bonus Bashing. 160 freakin' points! Not to mention there where 2 iron plates, 1 reinforcement card and a bonusstar. I mean seriously. Isn't reinforcement and iron plate not enough of an advantage? Do we really have to give 10 points for every item collected? I mean, in a totem game, where the level is a bit big, your better of just collecting. Not only will you get nice bonusses to stall your opponents moves, you get 10 points aswell! yay! And that's just the most doubtfull scene there is, since it rarelly occurs. FG is all about bonuscollecting for sure, since it doesn't matter how you get your points. Which, in my opinion, is terrible. Ok, you can't always be lucky. sometimes, you're just out of luck. But can't there be something done about bonuscollecting? If I want to play FG, I want to play co-op, where points are divided by saving trees, not by how much items I collected. If I want to play Claim Jumping, I mean I want to play that game where you need to get gold to your base and protect it, while sneaking behind someone stealing there gold. Bonusses add some good value to the game. Heck, I think even bonuspoints add some value to the game. But 10 for each item? And 50 for a star!? You got to be kidding me! I actually remember 3 peeps I played rated and lost to because I plainly got beaten. Folie a Deux, someone who had me on Land Grab and probably Mimiru, that one from the 160 points totem game. I think she would still have won if she had 0 bonuspoints. But all my other losses where due bonusstar/item collecting. Also keep in mind (and I doubt that this was the best idea) that picking up gold nuggets (and I think totems as well, though I haven't tested that one) gives you 5 bonus points. ---------------------------------------- Scarymuffin said:

On one map where I had complete Poll Controll my opponent ALMOST beat me by totem swapping. Pick up a totem piece, drop it and pick up another, etc. Repeate as neccisary. I just got lucky with a Spawn close enough for my steam to grab it to keep me in the lead. Great game. One of my favorites. I agree with the bonus star. It's full implementation wasn't done right. We are making it so that it's points are half what they used to be, and it will only appear if there is a large disparity in score. Secondly, we are making it so that bonus picking up swapping doesn't give you any more points (i.e. if you have an inlfuence already you don't get pickup points for another, and if you are holding an item you don't get points for picking up another.) I understand OOO is trying to help the underdogs here. Hm lets see; bonuses ok you got an iron plate, and here take the re-enforcements too, thats not enough have a bonus star. Wait let me give you some points with that. Your still behind? Have some great spawns; and i could probably throw your opponents spawns all the way to the back as wel. Shocks let me put all the gold by you and see if this helps. Good gracious!! I understand helping the underdogs but this is too much help guys. |

Yeah, bonus collecting has become a problem if you look at it. I can recall 7 specific bonues I picke up that game taht I scored 160, and a bonus star, and a few toem peices, but probably not enough to account for the other 40 pts by themselves, so I musta picked up 1 or two more bonuses. :shrugs: I honestly don't think it'd be as big of an issue in games if the bonuses just didn't spawn with as much frequency as they already do.
I agree with the no points for picking up somethign you alread have. As to the rest of it, time to stock up on Rain cards. :) P.S. to Cris, I got lucky thta game. I normally suck at ITP scenarios since I've spent so much time in FT. :shrug: ---------------------------------------- You expect me to think up something thoughtfull and witty to put here? |

What's "QQ"? Also: I'm happy about this, since it eliminates Totem/Fetish-juggling, and makes bonus points less overpowered. Now all I have to do is make sure I don't shoot a Steam unit 4 times in a row with Sharpshooter without snatching the nugget myself. ----------------------------------------  Be the Ultimate Ninja!
